Its a secret
Been waiting all season to run the Mighty Mach...got lots of chances this week.....are you ready? I debated writing this but could resist.

The Sleds:
Mine
06' Attak, Proline Clutching, 162 trail Carbides center only, stock 1.25" track, Plugs. 2000 miles. Track Tension....loose...borderline ratchet. Front springs loose, CAPro skis, with new Sharper Bars (7.5"). Limiter up one from middle, Transfer slightly more than middle (I kept changing it so do not have the final position). Oh ya original Belt.
Friends
05' Mach with 07 mapping, stock 1" track, 216+ studs...pretty much stock after that. No electric start.

Race One:
In 1000' trail condition (packed field)... Attak pulls the hole shot and lets off around 800' with no sign of the Mach....did this 3-4 times. He did say he was pulling on me (-: I finally lined up in some unpacked stuff and he left me as I only spun off the line.

Race Two: Hinley Reservoir. Rough snow covered with some bumpy, frozen slush type spots. Both sleds full of fuel. I was pulling around 10700 RPMs.This racing was a lot closer....and I dont want to mis represent. The Attak would hole shot everytime. I'd bring revs up to 4500 lean way back and launch. The Mach would lift skis 1 ft in the air but could not get around me if I got the hole shot. If we left at the same time, we stay side by side til about 80 than his sled would get to 100 instananlouy (wicked mid range on the Mach) and be 1-2 lenghts ahead. My sled was still pulling and at around 116-117 we we're back to within 1 sled or so. I did one solo run and got to 120 mph. I'm so happy at the performance of my Yamaha. We did rollons at about 30-40. Again his sled would pull 1-2 lenghts....but I could hang with him never losing more distance. We did one run where we rolled on at about 100 and we stayed ski tip to ski tip to 117 than we shut down. Now the disclaimer. The reservior was rough...he has way too many studs pulling down his top end... Overall my Mach buddy stopped talking smack and me thinks he'll be tuning before we head out again.

I'm not saying that the Yamaha's are faster than the Machs...this is a real world report and this week my Yamaha won more against the Mach than it lost!

Now for all you tuners....if I had my clutches machined for overdrive could I see more Top End....same setup, I dont want to give up my 1.25"

BTW trail rode the Mach..heavy steering, did not "feel quick" rode rough, but man from 80 to 100 mph it gets it! Gets as good if not better milage than my sled. Man is it quiet, low engagement too. More knee bend (forward design) than the Attak...didn't mind that part as to ride my sled through tight trails I have to ride the tank to carve.

this season i've seen some apex/attak kill mach and then i seen some mach kill apex/attak, those mach are rockets if there set up well, a well set-up mach is real hard to be close to

This last trip, I and 4 other Attak riders rode with a guy on an '05 Mach. He had to play with his clutch, over a few days, to even things out a bit. It was a pretty trick setup though:

136 x 1.5" Ripsaw & a black powder-coated extension - very nicely done.

Its hard to believe you were pulling those kind of numbers with those rough condititions..

Best ive ever seen was 115 on the DM and that was perfect trail conditions..

Great for you though.. good report..
