06 cooling

First a little history. I had owned yami's for years but after my 97 600 xtc had 2 engine failures, ruining 2 trips I became disguisted and bought a 2001 poo xcsp. Although it has been a good trouble free sled,I'm not impressed with their new sleds.I looked at buying an 05 vector but decided to wait a year to see how they shaked out. Wow have I been impressed with all the positive comments I've read. There just don't seem to be many issues with these sleds other than the tors, clutch rattle which I hear has been fixed for 06 and some overheating issues. I have ordered an 06 vector,now has anyone heard if the 06 has any updates to the cooling system or should I order the rear heat exchanger now so I have it when my sled comes in? Also I liked to say this is the best and most informitve sight there is period.

To my knowledge, there will be no additional cooling on the 06 Vectors. I bought a rear heat exchanger from a guy on ebay. It looks exactly like a Factory Yammi part, so I'm wondering if Yammi has a rear heat exchanger kit on the verge of releasing to the public... i know they offer one for the Vipers...

I have put over 1500 miles on my 05 Vector and have ridden hard in 45 degree weather for 180 miles straight with no overheating problems. I haven't had any issues at all about cooling so I doubt they are going to add more heat exchangers. Why fix it if it ain't broke?

same here rsvectorfreak...have 2834mi on and havent had any problems overheating...cept one time tryin to jump dads sled in the trailer. but other than that 2834 trouble free miles

There's no rear heat exchanger in the 05 rages and my husbands hasn't overheated yet.

yamasnowpilot...i think ur gonna love ur 06 rage...with teh mono shock rear suspension. it will be awesome. oh by the way..make sure u air it out once in a while-its good to let the track tension loosen up for a little bit

got my clutch rattle taken care of today by Yamaha and dealer install...what I do is always shut my sled off if I'm parking for more than a min I never let it just sit there and idle..You can also install a temp guage as many guys have...its a great way to monitor what your sleds doing temperature wise. I'm installing one this summer since I met a guy who had one on his and I think its a great idea.

One time the computor did shut my sled down while I was reading a map on the trail so maybe it was getting warm then but that was when it was new..I also have riden in 45 degree weather with 0 problem just put her in some fluff sometimes if snow is lacking, keeps the hyfax lubed and engine cool!

Had the xtra cooler put on my Vector. It's a genuine Yammi part. The way I see it, for $100 installed, it's cheap insurance!
