Bought a new 06 vector gt last fall and it has been a great ride all winter
until yesterday. Stopped for gas and noticed the oil light came on, went
100 yards and stopped. Had noticed some clutch slipping and squealing
a little earlier. Checked oil and found it down a quart, oil dripping
from bellypan, limped it home at the delight of my rev buddies,
pulled off the cover by the oil filter and expected either a hole in the filter
or possibly in the oil pan from landing a few jumps a little hard, but
no visible leaks. Any suggestions what to look for? Checked the resevoir,
seemed ok, never had the airbox off so have not checked the hoses
yet, after 1400 miles seems like if the hoses were loose from dealer they
would have leaked by now. Thanks for any input.

check for a crack in the oil tank , may only leak when running, its not common, but I have heard of 2 of those where there was a hair line crack in the tank

Make sure hose is on the underside of the airbox...I for one can see it coming off. Otherwise a leaky oil filter (gasket failure) or a cracked oil tank.

Check your oil resevoir tank. Mine had a hair line crack on the bottom. Tried to post pics but couldn't. I did put pics on HCS.

It's more than likely your oil resevoir leaking from hairline cracks at the front mounting bracket. That is what happened to mine. Only leaks when running. Luckilly mine was still under warranty (0nly 1400 miles). I am now worried about my wifes which has 1900 miles on it.

Is this a solid mount ? If so, maybe we should use a rubber mount or washer ?
