We're these handlebars different than the ERs for '06. In other words, will universal handguard mounts fit on this sled? Thanks guys

They should, I have '07 Apex bars on my '06 Nytro, and have Powermadd hand guards on them.
yes. the 06 bars are hotter, especially with yamaheaters than other years. the heat element is on the grip only not the hook. no big deal imo.

Rox makes a special adapter for the GT bars because of the shallow angle so they sit and look level and not cocked up. I have them on my GT and they are nice looking. They will be up for sale soon as well.
The 06 bars had hotgrips brand grips and a non heated hook. I wired mine up in parallel and they get hotter then the bejezzes and I have always had cold hands. I may even sell my yamaheater because I barely run with 2-3 bars on the grips and my hands almost melt.
