06's so GREAT ! 07 WHat is LEFT?

Thy say 8-10 more HP. Hell it feels more like 15HP on the lake runs I did a month ago.

Mighty the Apex Tom is running is said to be very very close to what the production sleds will be. I personally dont buy the 'ringer' idea at all.

how about a factory turbo/supercharger option.. and if i remember correctly the 2002 viper prototypes were faster than the actuall pruduction sleds..

There are a lot of gaps and missing sleds in Yamaha's currently lineup, in my opinion.
The '06s are great, I would be lying if I said otherwise.
How about a new utility sled? If you notice, there is no utility sled for '06.
What about an 80-hp entry level sled? Ever since the Phazer and 500 SXr/Vmax were dropped from the lineup, Yamaha really hasnt had an entry-level machine.
How about a mini for the kids? Poo, Doo and Cat all have 120s. With all of Yamaha's experience in making 50 and 90cc kiddie quads, Im sure they could make a kick-butt 120cc thumper.
How about EFI for the Vector?
There are LOTS of new things that Yamaha could do in the next few model years.

pimpedrsrage, do you really think the actual production sleds will run as well as the proto's?? I bet they don't. The word ringer comes to mind with me. I hope I'm wrong.
PS. HP rules and the Mach has plenty more. My money is on the big twin :ORC

I absolutely agree with "150 Fuelie". I'm just glad I wasn't the first one to say it. Having been a part of the corporate world for the last 10 years and knowing what I've experienced over that period as a technical sales engineer, I can say that it would not be unreasonable to question the validity of a prototype product that was put out for "demonstration purposes" and think that this company would risk anything less than an extraordinary spec and especially when so much emphasis is put on speed in this industry. Maybe Yamaha is different than 80% of the companies out there.

I'M NOT SAYING THAT THIS IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING but you have to consider the possibility.

yeah of course its a possibility zoom, but what im sayin is that an 05rx1 clutched broken in, studded, and even in one case has nitrous vs 06apex, and apex still cleaned up big time, except nos pros sled showed it what was up tho. even if they did do somethin to improve the performance, im sure that it wont be that major. i gurantee u that guys will clutch, pipe and do other mods to it to make it faster. stock vs stock i think the apex beats f7, fusion and maybe mach z the mach has 15 more hp but i think the apex 5hp feels like 10. i was drivin nos pros sled, when mr sled on the apex passed me. i didnt have the bottle, but tom said he was doin 128 on the speedo, i could only get 117 out of nos pros sled...i think all u guys will be impressed with the apex. im tellin u i was. mr sleds own words, "The 05 rx1 feels 5 years old compared to the 06 apex"...my 2 cents

Zoom I can agree more with the way you put it.
These are hand built protos. Tolerances are probably perfect. Likely intake and exhaust ports are more polished than the production models will be.
So could the production models have 1/2 to 1&1/2 HP less? Sure they could.

:ORC Do not get carried away here boys, there isn't a stock 06 Yamaha that will beat a stock 06 MachZ :ORC
