Hi guys,

well im making a new purchase this weekend on a 07 apex gt

the sled has 2500 miles on it but has a few issues that are my concern?

sled has a brand new un studded replacement track, however the sled was studded before and the center brace looks to be chewed in half from the studs , there is no damage to the exhaust nor the front heat exchanger so im told and from the pics i dont see any other damage,

also has a code 13 on the dash , from what ive found its either a bad air temp sensor or a bad connection???

outside of that the sled looks to be good

is this common for these center braces to have that happen , also can i find a replacement part for it?

im paying 5500 for the sled the way it sits and have to drive 3 hrs to get it?

what do u guys think?

im coming off of a viper so this is a upgrade for me , ive had a 09 nytro and also a rx1 in the past so i am familair with the new 4 stroke stuff

just need some imput

thanks ,

Jammie

First off, 2500 miles and it is on the second track?? That sounds funny to me. Also for $5500 it should be cherry IMO. You will spend some $ fixing those couple of items, may need a rear heat exchanger, front bushings as mentioned before. Maybe some wheel bearings and axle bearing. Maybe some shock rebuilding soon. I don't know, it all adds up, so just have an idea what this "brace" is going to cost. Your not talking that the actual tunnel is cut in half are you??

X2. I paid $5000 2 seasons ago for my Attak GT. At $5500 it should be mint and include some extras and no codes.

sounds to me like someone replaced the gauge with one with lower miles or beat the living heck out of her to burn up a track that fast i got 3500 on trade for my 07 and you could prolly get her for 43-4500 from the dealer (they had to put a few bucks into her had a bad heat exchanger from my buddies a arm) and it had a brand new ice attack track yamma heater and dual runners already on it plus the exhaust was just done .But anyways i would be suspect of it.

call pats yamaha up in greenland Mi. Kip will treat you right and i bet you wont be able to beat them on a used sled such as what you are looking for.

You are better off purchasing one with more miles on it that has been better maintained (Bearings, grease zerts in a-arms, bushings, exhaust doughnuts, etc) and has some add ons to it. (Exhaust, clutch, skis, riser, shock rebuilds, etc) You can find a ton out there for that $5500 with 4000-6000 miles on them that are cherry, have been maintained, and have additional work done to them that you will end up doing.

I would purchase the Predator sled posted on here in the classifieds for $5000 with 9000 miles on it over what you are talking about. I wouldnt pay over $4500 for what you are looking at, and with the stud damage to the tunnel, I would probably just stay away from it all together.

The code 13 can be troublesome to find and be a lot of hassle. I would get a site based sled they are just better mantained then a lot of others because the guys that care enough come here to look for how to make them better.

I have found you have to be smarter then a yamaha dealer to REALLY enjoy the sled and do some of the work yourself amps up the enjoyment.

I paid $5500 for my 07 attak GT 3 years ago. It was in great condition with 1600 miles on it with a studded track. It also came with a 2x yamaha jacket and helmet. The track is still in great condtion and only lost one stud and now has 5000 miles on it. The guys on this site have saved me tons and really know what they are talking about. Hope this helps with your decision...good luck.
