My transfer rod is busted on my 07 apex. The threads don't look like they stripped out. Also, the rod itself on the inside is bent. Has anyone ever had one come loose and unscrew itself? Just trying to figure out what happened and avoid future issues. I didn't pound it hard through any rough stuff when this happened. Thanks for any ideas.

Is this the same monoshock setup as an 05RX1? If so, I bent one on my 05 2 years ago at a 45 degree angle, I was running it hard on the trail and wondered why when I was racing buddies it would stand straight up. It didn't actually break until I hit a normal bump on the trail, it pulled the last few threads out and and jammed against itself and bent the inside bar. I was able to fix the threads and save everything but the bar..I belive the bar was around 100 bucks alone. I believe the jam nut came loose and allowed the transfer rod to back itself out and adjust for too much transfer. I have heard of people running without one, I tried it once but did not like the unpredictabilty of it.

Had mine come apart and bend too, as said the nut backed off and allowed it to come apart. |I was lucky it didn't hurt the track, I have heard of one that went right through the track. I took mine out, straightened is , cleaned up the threads and put it back it and it's been fine since.
I had mine rip the mount and round stock right out of the front pivot arm. For about a mile I was doing some pretty sweet wheelies wondering who mounted a turbo to my sled while I was eating lunch. 100 MPH across a lake, the rod was gouging my track big time but never speared through. I ended up milling a solid piece of steel and pounding it through the front arm where the transfer rod mounts... good to go!
