I have an 07 Attak that I just did some upgrading on and have developed a new hyfax issue.
New upgrades include anti ratchet drivers from Wahl Bros, 1.35 Cobra track, hygear revalve and 7.0 kg Yamaha. I had put new hyfax on about 200 miles after the upgrades and presumably after the new drivers and track were broke in.
On the first day of riding I could feel and smell my hyfax so I loosened the track several times thinking it was too tight. After about 50 miles the hyfax were pretty much gone. I looked everything over and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I got hosed for some UP hyfax and put new ones on before riding the next day. Started with the same issues the next morning so I tightened my transfer rod thinking it was putting more pressure on the rails because it was transferring too much. This helped but I still had issues and ended up burning those hyfax after 212 miles.
Any suggestions? The new track has every window open but there was a lot of snow on the trail so lube should not have been the issue.
Thanks for any help you can give!

- 2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
Mine wears them down quick as well. I have the front wheel kit too. They wear in the middle of the rails.
If there isn't a lot of snow they'll go quick. You can smell them burning and the track clips are hot to touch. I cut the windows out and I swear they burn down faster. I never had them wear so fast and I have owned the machine for 10k miles.
I think they wear down to point fast then stay there a while.

I put the cobra 1.35 track on. They are wearing from the front wheels all the wall to front of the rear wheels. When I tightened the transfer rod the wear seemed more uniform. In my simple mind I was thinking that must have distributed the pressure more evenly? I have had this sled since new and not had this problem before the upgrades.
Do you think this is simply a wheel issue?

Larger wheels or the Pioneer wheel lowering kit should help.
I have the exact same set up EXCEPT I also installed the pioneer kit at the same time. I noticed no differance from stock to now with wear. Way over 1000 mile this year, and had a few hundred on same hyfax last year.still like 17mm left on hyfax. Yes mine is a 07 attak gt with cobra track, wahl drivers, oh and an anti stab kit up front. So I did add the anti stab kit plus the pioneer kit at the same time as all the other mods
