Riding buddy is looking at an attak with 9k miles. Looks average and runs great. Is it worth $3200?

I just bought a 2006 Apex RTX last february with 16500kms, little more than 9000 miles. I paid $4500 for it, put close to $1500 into now, including new track. That's about $3300 american, depending on how the owner looked after it, you're probably in the right ball park I'd say... Quick things to check while standing in the guys driveway: condition of track, condition of idler wheels, oil levels, look for leaks, check for any signs of coolant leaking under the running boards where heat exchangers are, check front heat exchanger for any signs of studs hitting it. If you can run, does it back fire? If so, the donuts likely need to be done and could have cracked Y pipes. Check carbides, make sure there's meat on there... Probably a thousand things more I could list, but those are some of the things I wish I would've looked at or known when I bought mine being new to the sport. Hopefully someone else can give some more food for thought to!

Good luck!

Average sleds not doing very well lots of used cherry sleds for sale. When I see average appearance I walk right by no interest. Take a look at Pat's in Greenland MI website he had a bunch of very clean attaks with bags high windshields the works. I didn't check prices but they were cherry used sleds.

Awesome deal.....

I went and gave it a hard look. Exhaust is fine, everything is in good shape except;
track is very worn in the inside - center, threads showing in chunks worn out. Why the wear on the inside? Ice ripper.
clutch is starting to grove slightly.

this is the electric Ohlins model. Wire is attached.

If wear is right down center of track it likely broke a transfer rod at some point and was ridden for a bit before detected.

Could also be a worn bearing on the rear center wheel? Not turning maybe, seized??? If wear is towards the outsides more, check to see what the wear is inline with... Would be surprised if it was from ice scratchers, unless they are the cable ones and the guy just bent them into track when not required? The stiff metal rod ones if put back properly shouldn't touch the track and typically sit nicely on top of the rail when not in use.

is there wear on the top of the shock? some did have an issue with this.

I didn't see or feel any, but the track is very loose. Will probably replace it, doesn't look safe.
How do the electric shocks hold up? How soft do you run rebound on the front shocks?

my brother sets my front shock clickers but the goal is to keep the front a-arms parallel to the ground.

I run an Ice ripper on my 2012 xtx 144 have 10K miles looks aok some threads showing....I would buy another. Something got up against the track could have been EC shock or something got frozen in there. If private owner ask?
