I just bought an 07 Attak, brought it home and it will not start. Any suggestions??? Plenty of fuel, turns over, seems to be no spark. The guy I bought it from misplaced his manuel, so I do not even know how to open the side panels. Is there an owners manuel on line??

Thanks a bunch :4STroke:

I just thought of something, I stopped to show a buddy on the way home. He started it to hear the sound of the engine, when he shut it off he instictively hit the kill switch. The next time I tried to start it was when it would no longer start. It turns over and you can hear the fuel pump come up to preasure, but my feeling is no spark. Could it be that a fuse is blown? I read the method of getting to the fuses and that is nuts. How complicated is this machine??

Thanks

Most likely you have fouled the plugs. Especially if you did not let the sled run long enough to warm up. I made this same mistake with my own Apex right after I bought it, started up to let buddies listen to it run too many times without letting it warm up and had to replace the plugs before it would start again. A friend had this happen to him at the start of the season this year as well, started up his 2 Attaks and rode them from the garage to the trailer and shut them back down. When we got to the riding area to unload one of them wouldn't start. Had to change the plugs and it started right up.

Just disconnect the fuel pump (gray connector, located above the clutch by the gas tank) Turn the key for a few seconds to blow out the gas in the cylinders. Re-connect the fuel pump and start the engine. You may have to play with the throtle (very slightly press) to get all the cylinders running. Let it warm up for a few minutes.
Good luck,

KI

Stupid question but did you pull up the kill switch after this? Its not a "push push" button :tg:

Yes, pulled up kill switch, if it is still on the motor will not turn over or the gauges work.

Thanks for the though, I have done a lot of stupid things in the past.

Sorry, I have to read the writing a little better.. I now see that you can crank engine with starter and that would not be possible with the kill switch down.

All fixed, new plugs did the job. Took me about 3 hours, did not know what I was doing. Only about 30 min. of that to reassemble. One thing after starting and allowing it to idle it shut down on it's own after about 5 to 10 min. is that normal??

Yup. If you watch it next time about 5-8 min. after you start it your overtemp light may come on (check you coolant mix, do a search and you'll see what I mean) shortly after that it will turn itself off to prevent any damage from prolonged high engine temp. Even if you are not overheating once the engine os up to "operating" temp, if the throttle is not touched for something like 8-10 min. the sled will shut it self off.
