Spring check should be all about building your own sled. I can not see how building what the customer wants as it rolls down the assembly line being more expensive. Sled 110 gets these shocks sled 111 gets those. I should be able to have more choice of color that just two or three as well. Sled 112 gets those shocks and that color. We have computors to keep track of all the different combinations whats the big deal.

They dont have a water cooled monster computer like yours. LOL I hear what your saying it would be nice to have it delivered the way you want it.

They better come up with some thing very special for me to ever snow check another sled.I'm sick and tired of walking into dealerships in mid December and seeing the same sled I bought $1,200 cheaper.I've bought 3 brand new sleds and it has happened everytime.

You can have any color you want, as long as it's black.
I thought part of the fun was spending what you just spent on your sled, in aftermarket accessories, so you could customize it, ride it for 1 or 2 seasons, then strip everything back off and sell them on TY or ebay for 1/2 of what you paid for them?

That's why I'm keeping the '03RX-1mtn. I don't see anything from the factory that warrants me getting rid of my sled and acc. at half of what I got into it. Each year I mod a little more and by next year whn I add the SC I should be satisfied .
My next new sled will be bought when this one falls apart (same goes for the wife getting a new sled). The 900 RMK will probably be replaced before my RX-1 (based off of my experience of owning both and cost of upkeep and the fact it's a 2-stroke). Not to mention my 20+ years riding experience over the wife. The only way I could see me buying a new sled sooner would be if Yamaha builds a mtn sled as light as the Arctic Cat M-7 with 220 HP & Yamaha's durability.

You have NO IDEA how bad I want to get an Expert-X and Simmons skis for my '04? Maybe when it's paid for? Unfortunately, if the '06's are free of any major problems, I'll want one of those, it's inevitable.

I would think the price would be much higher for a made to order sled. Assembly lines don't like the changes.

I think its the workers on the assembly lines myself.
Manufacture doesn't care because sell it to the dealer spring order or not either way they get thier money. Its the dealer that takes the hit on non spring orders.
We buy the sleds no matter what so the manufacture feels no need to do a little extra for the customer in way of special order sleds. Its not worth the agravation of pissing off assembly line workers by complicating orders.
More options would probably cut into the accesory sales as well. I mean you can order Simmons ski's from Yami but not on the sled. They just sold two pair. You can order stiffer springs from Yami, same thing two sets sold.
Hats off to them for offering three shock setups as this is a step in the right direction. Even if you have to buy a certian sled to get it.
Wish I could get floats, stiffer springs and Simmons ski's from the factory on an Attack. Maybe some day! Sigh!

I don't think assembly line workers in Japan get angry. Isn't that why they have their pre-work, calastenics programs? Either that, or robots don't get hung-over on saki, or call in sick from eating bad sushi. Besides, customization would be more apt to break-up the monotony of installing the same component all day long, thus improving productivity by bringing excitement to the line.
Now, sell me a high-performance, 4-stroke, sled that can get me thru one season, in-tact, and I'll gladly participate in a spring order program for '07 even if it came in just one color. JMTC
