I have not recieved my 07 bars yet, dealer says they should be in anytime now! But I have been reading alot about also changing the harness on the 06 to the 07 harness. Is this necessary? Does the new wiring harness come with the bars? and if not will I get good heat from the 07 bars with the 06 wiring??? Thanks! drf

well...this is not a simple question to answer due to the fact yammie has come with a bulletin saying this 06bar to 07harness MAY cause computer probs...SO at this time I along with MANY others are sorta testing our NICE WARM grips, and I will report back at end of season how many miles I put on with this MOD/FIX.
if I were you,I would still get those 07 bars,If you can...Ive heard they are not available anymore but if you can surely get them. The key to the warmer grips is wiring the 06 bars to 07 harness...But once again,I truly dont want to be responsible for any possible issues that you MAY have.
So get the bars, and do what you feel is good for you...knowing full well you are taking responsability for your sled.
I think we just all need to be aware that Yammie is saying this MAY cause an issue, and We all dont need more problems...TY and Myself also dont want in anyway to be held responsible for any such issues.
In all honesty,Im hoping this HUGE ISSUE is going to be ADDRESSED once again by yamaha for next season...so you may just all want to get some guantlets out for another season and wait it out.
I know what I and some others are doing, but we all have been modding sleds for many yrs and are full well aware of the issues which may arise,so be careful everyone...the last thing i EVER WANTED was to have ANY TY members lose a day of riding due to this.
Keep an EYE out for updates to the issue...probably the 08s will surely come with some changes as yammie must know a 3rd season of poor warmers would make them the laughing stock....so maybe we can apply a much anticipated 08 wiring system to our 06s and 07s.

Why would Yamaha not offer the 07 handlebars anymore? I would suppose that there are some riders who may role there sled and bend a bar so I would think they would sell the bars for years to come.drf

Assuming that you're talking about the handlebar upgrade, the demand exceeded supply and they're currently out of stock.drfbuster said:Why would Yamaha not offer the 07 handlebars anymore? In answer to the question in your original post, the wiring harness comes with the bars on the upgrade.
No, you would not get good heat using the '06 harness with the '07 bars.
