07 Nytro, not one piece bar

If I understand this correctly the 06 Nitros last year had no issues with the hand warmers but Yamaha will still allow them the upgrade option for $39. But if you buy a new 07 Ntro you will get the new one piece bars that will now be standard on all Apexs and Attaks. Does that make sense??

No issues ....?????!!! Tell that to my freezing hands when it was 15 deg F outside and the handwarmers were on full blast!!! They never got any warmer than luke warm.

Maybe I'm an exception, but I will definitely be getting the upgrade.

I said maybe I was mistaken...all that matters at this point is you will be allowed the upgrade if you have a 06 Nytro.

why and how would a 1 piece bar be warmer or allow the hand grips to work better??

The old bars had alluminum wedges (similar to bycicle bars inside the goose neck) that tightened against the inside of the bars to keep the hooks in place. This robbed the heat away from the rider's hands (as do my alluminum Fly Aerotapers). The new bars are all steel with built in hooks and grips to the end (similar to Arctic Cat's bars) which resist heat transfer to the bars more than alluminum does.

I'm sure a pair of BJ Hooker's brand hooks will also cure this problem since they use a cone shaped wedge that forces the plastic hook to wedge tightly against the inside of the bars rather than the alluminum itself.
