Hi guys been away from sledding for a long break looking for some advice on what everyone is running for tracks on the extended version of the phazer looking at the ice cobra 1 1/2 or the 1 3/4" backcountry complete kit from tracks USA has anyone used either of these or is there something else better for this sled will be driven by my 14 year old daughter (120 lbs ) with lots of powder play and a bit of trail time (not many groomed trails in this area of nfld Canada). Thanks in advance for your experience and knowledge

Remember the Phazer has a narrow tunnel and 14" track. You'll need those tracks you mentioned trimmed if you are going to use them. It's easy to do or I know some shops are selling track trimming services now too. Either of those tracks will be a huge upgrade, but you'll likely need to do clutch work to make it work properly, and/or reducing the gear a tooth or more.

well on the one i own, i went from the stock 1" track at 121" legth to a 144" with 1-1/2" lug. just the lug height would have transformed the sled. i was looking for a deal on a 1-3/8" track with the premolded studs in it but it was cheaper to buy the stock yamaha phazer xtx track than get one cut down. i do reccomend the 8 tooth drivers for it when going to 144" as it takes care of most of the gearing issues. have not got any seat time on it since i geared it up to xtx from the rtx specs. seems to be working well.

Wide skis and the bigger lug 144” track if the bulk of seat time is in the power or off trail. Even the 2-2 1/2” imho. Will up the fun factor for her and not the stuck factor. Stuck will take away a lot of the fun factor for both of you.

Old stuff here I know, but how is this working out for you? I am going to extend my 2007 to 144 soon . Biggest question is gearing or drivers. I have everything else.

do the drivers. if memory serves, a standard phazer is geared the same as the xtx. it is working really well. sold it to my brother kirkswim and he is loving it. miss the rtx gearing some times but it does well with the xtx gearing.
