I hooked up my wire for pluging in my visor yesterday on my venture. It was suggested in a post on this board to use the blue and white wire under the crash pad and a ground on the riser which I did. It didn't seem to have enough power so i put the ground to a black wire and same carp. I noticed later that there was another post suggesting the blue wire under the crash pad. Was one of these post incorrect? My visor nor my wifes visor will clear effectively. Is this related to the power alloted to the accesories by Yamaha on these sleds such as the hand warmers that don't heat up. Is there a better way to do this so that my visors will stay clear? I live in Timmins Ontario Canada so a heated visor is almost a must and next hot hands as well.

I found the best hook up for most power to the shield is directly to the battery. This is easier said then done since it's a bitch to get to the battery but it's worth it, my shield is always toasty and dry plus I can leave it plugged in during short breaks and have a dry shield. The danger is forgetting to unplug it and killing the battery. Be sure to put on an in-line fuse.

You have to pull the air box which wouldn't be too bad except for the breather hose on the bottom, you really have to pull the side panel so you can get to the other end of the hose and it's still not easy. It's like slow love making, it's a lotta work but in the end it's worth it. ;)!

You can soldier the + wire to the + Booster Cable end fitting and then pull the booster cable fitting cover back over the connection. The ground wire can be connected to the frame very close to the booster wires using an existing self tapping screw. The first thing off the + cable needs to be an in-line fuse. Do not fuse the ground.

Otherwise, ... go fishing for the battery, which is really not that bad. Heck, I just wrapped the + wire around the booster cable terminal, several times, until I had to change the oil filter. Then, on my sled, it is easy to get to the battery when you change the oil filter.
