Quick history...

Running a 07 RTX, ulmer stage 2 clutch kit (primary & secondary modification) Stock exhaust, 136" 1-1/4 w/ plenty of studs No engine modifications or any other performance parts.

I have 3k miles on and never once hit the rev limiter. Now the last couple times out, pin the throttle and hit the limiter.

My first guess would be clutching, but it will only hit it if I pin the throttle, short bursts, track spinning.

Get out on a packed trail and it will just pull and hold at 10,500-10,800.

Can anyone explain why this might be happening? I was thinking, maybe blowing up my '03 is finally not haunting me and I am running the throttle harder then I have in the past? Or is it just the engine breaking in?

Thanks, Brent

I had a similar issue with mine revs threw the clutching to fast. I ended up trying a different belt and it was perfect. I only have this issue on really cold days warmer days I go back to the Yami belt

My 07 attak with 4000km and a pionner clutch kit started doing this, and it slowly gets worse, in my case it's a primary clutch problem, I also notice the engine brakeing is gone now and the clutch is sticking. Most people on here will tell you to clean and inspect your clutches.

This sled gets suspension pulled and clutches cleaned every year.

I think I will try the belt idea, never crossed my mind, no notice of losing engine breaking...might even be worse then normal. So really gets me thinking its the belt. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks guys.

Iam still working on mine, it sucks when you dont have the right tools. I hope a new belt works for you.

That's where you want your revs to be....that's if i'm understanding you right.....you want your revs to peak 10,500 to 10,800....if that's where your revs are, you got the sweet spot. If it is reving to 11,000 then just add a washer to the tip of your weights and your are good to go.
