Does the mono hook a lot less than the other suspension? I have the mono and think it hooks up great even with a 1" track

I ran a best of 114.7 last year on the gun, 2000ft, perfect ice, stock as a rock. It would run 113 all day long though.
I went for a ride tonight with the stock clutching (havent installed the Ulmer parts yet) and 23-38 gearing. As was posted earlier, I lost about 400rpm with the taller gears and it didnt seem to pull quite as hard. I'm going to try the clutching this weekend but i will most likely go back to the 22T for everyday use. We only run ice for the first few weeks of the year, the rest of the time we run on snow @ 1000' or so.
I'll be using my buddy's indentical stocker as a baseline.

From what I was told, the Proactive on the 07 RTX transfers way better than the mono and that is why you can run the 22 gear. You can do it with the mono, but you need 192 studs to make it work properly. I will definetly have it in if they local snow drags this year.
How would a 23/39 be. Would it be worth changing and can it be done with stock chain.

From what I've seen it really depends on rider weight (note I don't drag race much, but I've played around with both skids alot).
In my experience, if you are more than about 220 you'll find the ProActive sinks down to the transfer rods, even on the highest torsion spring setting and with the rod nuts adjusted for max transfer. The result is very little transfer. A light rider on the other hand will see lots of transfer. The ProActive does have the advantage of having an adjustable center spring. With enough center spring preload, at initial launch the skis will already be partially unloaded (I suspect real drag racers woud take advantage of this).
With the Monoshock a heavy rider seems to get more weight transfer, but there is nothing you can do for the initial throttle hit to start off with less weight on the skis.

On my 07 RTX if i am not against the gas tank on the holeshot my skis go sky high. My set up is stock center rear spring from the dealer, one up on the limiter straps, 14 clicks from soft on rear shock, torsions springs set at medium, transfer rods one line from max, anti-bottom rollers on medium. I also weigh 280 in street clothes. My skis usually lift 6 inches on the holeshot when up against the tank. If i put my feet underneath me by the mufflers its going almost vertical every time. I have never rode a mono skid but the proactive has plenty of transfer from what ive seen.

I think, I am going to try 23/40 gearing. Currently I am running 24/40.
I'm sorry. I guess I didn't say. I have on 06 RTX I went from a 24/38 to a 23/38 and I was thinking about going to a 23/39. Would that be about the same ratio as a 24/40. Would this loose to much top speed. It would be a 1.69 ware as a 24/40 is a 1.66 and a 24/38 is a 1.58.
