I know I've seen posts on suspension setup, but for the life of me I can't seem to find them.
I've been riding my 07 Venture since Jan 07 and Love this sled. My only complaint is that after a day of riding, I feel like I've gone 10 rounds with Tyson. Most of my riding is on the trail, but I do play in the powder as well. I would really like to find a way to soften up the bumps a bit and not have to wrestle with the steering. Everything is still set as when I bought it. It's the GT so it has clicker shocks up front.
Any suggestions would help.
Thanks,
Mike

When mine was new it handled like a bag of wet cement on the trails. I adjusted the front spring in the rear suspension almost as long as it would go. This got rid of most of the tipping feeling in the corners, and gave me decent steering.

Thanks for the reply Roger.
By making it longer, did you mean you loosened or tightened the preload. I tightened it a little (2 turnes) before I went out last week. Seemed to help some. I need to see where the clickers up front are set.

I loosened the nuts, making the spring longer, also making it softer, which put more weight on the skis. I loosened (backed off) the nuts almost to the end of the adjustment. I backed them off about 1 1/2 inches from factory setup.

The clicker shocks up front are worth their weight in gold, but only if you get them set up right. From where you are now, I suggest going for a little ride, then stop and click each shock towards the "softer" setting by about 2 clicks (top and bottom). Ride again and then change it again. I have mine set at 3 clicks up from the softest setting. It's easy to do and only takes about a minute to change and the hour you take to fool around with this process is well worth it.
