Idler wheels are shot near the front rear shock, same thing happened on my 05 vector and 06 nytro, ive bought a new sled every year since 1993 and up antil i bought a yamaha in 05 i replaced 1 wheel, some years i rode as much as 5700 miles.Other than the idler wheels the sled has been good, top speed has been 121 on speedo, sled has 425 miles on it.

i still cant believe that they put wheels on these machines that you cant change the bearings in,bearings go bad ,throw wheel away if they are beyond greasing and buy new wheels, great deal huh

:die

I put the optional spoke wheels on my 2006 RTX, they have replacable bearings and are made in Canada (possibly Kimpex?). I'm also using Pioneer Performance Hy-Fax saver kit that extends the wheels down 2.5mm (like using 135mm wheels) but I had to modify the mounts to clear the bearing openings on the spoke wheels. The stock mounts work great but I wanted different wheels and they have snap rings where you must machine or grind the blocks to clear them. Pioneer says using 135mm wheels alone can cause the rails to crack and their new mounts have extra support and use an extra bolts where you drill holes in the lower portion of the slide rails. They look really well made. Now if we get some snow!

I also have the Pioneer lowering kit. I clean and grease all of the bearings in the skid each off season. (whick is about 12 months long this year)

What is a Pioneer lowering kit?

i'm going to be going on my third set of wheels in 500 miles from having the rubber wear completely off of the wheels.
