Hey guys, last year I broke the bracket on the W arm that the transfer rod bolts onto. So i quick welded a new bracket up and kept riding. This was the last ride of the year, and I drove it in the trailer and left if for a few months. This past summer I went to get the sled to put a new (used) W arm in it and realized that on that last ride of the year, I somehow wore all the way through my hyfax and destroyed my rails! Figured that this occurred because the newly welded bracket for the W arm was maybe off a little bit causing the suspension to be off and wear my hyfax prematurely. Of course now I needed new rails (new used rails) and I also put brand new graphite HYFAX in. Took the sled for the first ride of the year this past week (about 70 miles). When i got the sled home and checked the hyfax they are almost all the way worn through again!!
What could be causing this? I never adjusted the transfer rod! I put the straps back in the same holes!
Any help would be awesome! thanks

Also I have the extra wheel kit already on the sled!
Snow conditions , track tension ,proper alignment, weight pushing down . Yamahas do wear hyfax then other brand machines..
I used to heat treat my hyfax before the DuPont sliders.
Heat map gas - cool - heat and cool . 5 cycles then install. You can do this also with snow , but much better in hand. Lasted a while .

Check to see if the melted plastic from the hyfax is stuck to the clips, that will really destroy a hyfax quickly. I put scratchers on about 5 years ago and have only changed the hyfax once since in about 9000km and even then that was because the suspension was out, not because it needed it. I can go across a lake that is all ice and no snow with no problem now. I also had the track changed out to a fully clipped track and that helped. As mention above, I also use the heat treat method, seems to work for me.

I would bet you are running your track too tight

if the track was too tight, wouldn't they wear more at the front of the rail? mine are wearing through right in the center of the rails...

How are the track clips

My thots exactly. Wrecked a set of rails on my old Viper. Track was throwing out clips. I would replace the missing clips but every ride there would be at least 10 more clips missing. How are the track clips
Was watching the hyfax and clips closely or I thot I was but after a short 100 mile ride both hyfax and rails were toast and more clips missing.
Changed the track, added Pion Perf drop wheel kit and never burnt thru another set of hyfax.
