08 MTX block of plate help

Hey guys I am thinking about making my own exhaust block off plate for my 08 mtx is there anything i need to remove or need to change once its in or before i even start. If anyone could comment or send some pics that would be awesome.

I would just order one from OFT. Theirs fits perfect and comes with the mounting rivets.

There is a small lip around the opening that i had to cut out, then i just cut a piece of aluminum and riveted it in. its all hidden under my seat. All the exhaust brackets,plastics and the heat shield are gone. Are you replacing the stock seat?

thumperlover: I am not replacing the seat just wondering if i take a piece of aluminum and riveted in is there anything i need to watch for.

I'm not sure now, I did mine last year. Its a pretty easy tear down. Nothing sticks out in my mind as something to look for.

like Swelly said there are some places that sell the plates, if you didn't want to make one.
