I am in the process of doing an under tunnel exhaust and I am looking for a tunnel block off plate, I have searched but did not find much, so who has a block off plate installed with under tunnel exhaust?

Do you guys recommend buying a plate or making your own? Looking for some info from the guys that have done this, pics would help also. I have sent an email off to Schmidt Bros about their plate, waiting on a response but can anyone tell me if it will close off the tunnel completely with the seat installed? I don't plan on using any of the rear plastics.

I had mine made by Brad Wursten at Power Addiction in North Logan Utah make mine. $80 total ($68.00 + $12.00 shipping). For about $20 I had a sheet metal shop make a "curved segment" to provide the clearance for the round exhaust muffler znd welded it to the plate and riveted it to the tunnel. I used a stock header and shortened it to fit the Two Bros. exhaust. Ceramic coated the inside and outside of the header for flow and heat dispersion, after 2 years using, looks like the day I installed it.

oft makes them or at least used to...

skinz has a partial close off for over tunnel and so does schmidt bros...

OK
I'm currently pulling out both the heat exchanger and the radiator, so it's pretty bare looking. The 'hump' is under the seat and it's where the snow shovel goes. I wanted to make sure that the track didn't hit the exhaust, so I have it about 1.5" total height, with that circular segment. I will be taking off the aluminum box ( stock seat frame) and making some drop down brkts to carry the seat and hope to have a tunnel bag there like Polaris has done.
I actually like the idea of having the clearance and It's going to be covered with a tunnel bag for this season. Total cost was somewhere about $450. ($40 exhaust header off-e-bay, $80 H20-jet plate, $36 sheetmetal segment, $140 Two Bros exhaust off e-bay, $20 exhaust packing kit, $100 ceramic coating, $15 stainless bolts/clamp, $10 exhaust springs, $5 for exhaust reducer/expander(?) and aluminum block from scrap found in my shop) I did my own welding and machining.
