08 mtx blown engine

Were you guys able to track this product down? Hows the rebuild?

Motor was disassembled by konekesko/importer. and send back to local dealer. the parts are under inspection on workshop who rebuilds engines. still trying to get it under warranty. the konekesko/importer story about how the engine broke is not convincing.

When we looked at the engine, it appears to be very simple twincam engine nothing too special about it. should be very simple to rebuild.

dealer told us new engine price, 4700eur. Thats about 6800 us dollars. :yam:

You might want to try searching around for a used engine on E-Bay or put a post in the Classified Forum for a Wanted to Buy -Engine.

My engine just went yesterday in the same manner as described, going to the dealership tomorrow to see if I can get some help only had 519 kms on it #$%&*

Did you also roll yours?

Yeah it never went right over but it did lay on its side for about 5 mins ( running for about a minute if that even, while I climbed back on and hit the kill switch) I had to add about 1/4 quart of oil to it as there was some lying in the foam of the side cover but I got about 100 kms out of mine before it started ticking then it only lasted 5 mins after that. Wierd thing is that it never made a sound when it let go and no holes in the block either lol, I can turn the engine over by hand with the clutch one full revolution forward and back but it dead heads against something that wont let it freely rotate, so Im thinking either the rod is broke and hitting the bottom of the piston/skirt or maybe it dropped a valve down. I pulled the plugs out and they werent beat up any and Im gonna wait to see what my dealer says before I tear too much further into it. If I do go into it more I will post some pics of the failure to hopefully save someone else from going thru this
