08 Nytro Oil Tanks

I am going to get a new oil tank on warranty, and I wondering if the new ones are any better than the orignals?

Mine is leaking oil out of the bottom fitting at the tank.

I've been told they are the same, which is why I reinforced my 08 instead of getting a new one on warranty.

Do a search on this topic one of our Swedish members has all sorts of pictures and fix descriptions. I had mine welded last month and did some J & B weld around the fitting to make it as strong as possible. Suggest you at least put some J&B around it so it will not happen again. Good luck..

I am thinking of mounting the tank using some grommets to isolate it from vibrations. Anybody try this?

I would think we all should band together and at least run the initial problem through the dealers and to make Yamaha aware of the problem. If we all just get the tank fixed on our own they will never correct the problem or know there is a large issue with the tanks.
