08 Yamaha Apex LTX donuts symptoms

Ok what are the normal signs for bad donuts? My sled is not getting good gas milage and it is back firing? Any ideas would be great. Thank you!

Start the sled and let it warm up. Once warm take some rags and plug off the exhaust. If it does not stall then the donuts are shot.
