09 1200 X vs. 07 Apex RTX

cool review. looks very unbiased to me.

how was the gas mileage for the 1200?

Snd..

I watched a 1200 video and didnt like how it sounded like a quad where the Apex snds like a raped bike. But who buys a sled for just the snd..lol..Id like to ride one allot of ppl like them so......
My thing was engine reliability which Yamaha has provided at least, and I bought a used Apex with low miles so the upgrades I needed to do didn't really cost me all that much.

Mileage was about the same, about 12-13 mi/gal, but the 1200 was still breaking in so I expect it to do better w/ more miles.

Nice review. I hated the original rev chassis because I felt like I was sitting on the dash. I havn't had a chance to put any seat time on a rev xp but I thought they were supposed to be lower and back more but by the sounds of it, its not gunna be enough for me...

I finally drove a Rev this weekend ('07 800 Summit) and I could not wait to get off of that thing!!! It seems like I was sitting way too low and my knees were bent back too much, as far as comfort goes, it's not even on the same planet as my XR.

Im 6'6" There is no way I can ride a rev. I tried one 2 seasons ago for about 75 miles and hated the entire thing... I want to try an xp

I ride with 3 1200's. All of us are high mileage sleders, between 5 and 7000 kms last year. For the most part I agree Terminators post. For playing in powder the Renegade is amazing, I could take it places where I wouldn't consider taking my Attak. The seats on the 1200's are very stiff...like sitting on a seadoo. It takes some getting used to. I still found my knees banging on the body when I forgot about the seating position. I like the clutch engagement on the 1200 better than the Apex, it is nice and smooth, real nice for the powder...no track spin. The Renegade is slightly faster than the one up. Attak is quicker but not by much.
The 09 1200's do have their problems. 2 of the 3 have developed coolant leaks this year. Two handwarmers have split open exposing the heat pad. Reverse gearing problem on the Renegade. Also the Renegade goes through sliders just as fast as I do. I believe there was a couple of other problems. But for the most part the 1200 is a very nice sled... But I still love my Apex

Yeh, there trying to convert me. No success though. One thing I forgot to mention. The Doo's storage bags for the rear of the sled can hold more stuff than all 3 of mine put together. Having to beg a little room from them is embarrassing on saddlebag trips. I have burned my bags twice from hot exhaust. I hope this is something Yami is also going to change.

Oh ya that extra tunnel is great for storage..... Is there enough room to store all the tools necessary to work on a ski doo??? LOL...
