09 Nytro SE front steering knuckle coming apart

my bolt fell out one night while i was a trip,rode about 10 miles without the bolt!!!replaced it but the hole was egged out,when i got back i welded it closed and redrilled the hole.had to do it two more times before i replaced it with an after market frontend.the bushing idea has some merit.

This happened me too, left one failed to my Mtx-12. Second drive to this winter. Last winter I did not even check them ( I did not know that this was a known problem, of course you should check almost every bolt and nut pretty often). Before this season I checked and they seem to be tight. I think that at least thread locking glue or lock nuts is needed.

The bolt scoured the knuckle/spindle surface and the hole a bit. I think that I will take it to machinist to look if it is possible to fix it or even make it better. Would a steel insert be a option? I don't understand why the structure is like that...Wouldn't it be better if the hole was "stronger" and the balljoint had a shaft.

Aftermarket front end and with better balljoint structure would be nice. And I think that there are those available...

Grab front spindle and give a good tug as a ride pre-check, should be tight. Same with bars turn left right and feel the play, should be tight as well. Imagine the thrashing everything takes. I fly planes and you always run a pre-check, quick 45 seconds prevents a lot of sins. I replaced front spindles, 2013 three part knuckles, all washers and bolts, still tight 1500 miles. MountainTech makes A-Arms with better knuckles and geometry if you are looking to swap things out.

as grimm said, there is another lower hole. I had it happen years ago. cut a steel spacer to fill the gap between the holes and use a longer bolt.

I use red loctite on this. Let set for 24 hours. The right side seems to be more problematic. A good welding shop can repair the spindles.

even if you weld it in, use a longer bolt through both holes with a spacer. I've been through it a few times. also have blown a few out at the ski bushing. that cant be fixed, but the ball joint mount can. I wouldn't even weld it in, I would wrap/pack the upper hole with copper strands washers and pound it tight through both holes with a spacer.
