hey fellas....I’d like to hear from anyone that has used studs in the 1.63 range.....I have full length tunnel protectors for my ltx....however I have not heard about anyone talk about the front heat exchanger, not the vent but the actual exchanger in front of vent in front of drive cogs.....it’s not protected......just wondering if any contact was made with longer studs anywhere with full length protectors....I’m undecided between 1.5 or 1.63....trail/lake sled.......weekend ice racing

I am on the fence. I have the STM heat exchanger protectors and full tunnel protectors yet to be installed. I would like to run the Fast-Trac Top Gun II 1.625" but am hesitant to pull the trigger.
Please help me out guys. Thanks in advance for your insight and knowledge.

Anyone run 1.89 INS Hornets on a 1.25 lug? This would be with STM protectors.

Ran 1.630" Stud Boy Lake Racer all year. No added tunnel protection. Never touched anything in tunnel nor the front exchanger. IMO when you have studs you must tighten track up to compensate for the added centrifugal weight. IMO if you run track tension where it should be, 1.63" will not hit. If your studs are hitting all over, your track is too loose, IMO.

Since 1.89s are longer, didn’t know if I would have clearance problems. Or, is that long not good due to deflection?

Run your track tight and you will be fine...no sag at all. Plus it’s faster...
