What do I need to do to swap out the 1.25 ripsaw from my 2011 XTX with a 1.75 BC? Are the drivers compatible? I searched and didn't find a thread. Tunnel protectors need to come out. Is the pitch the same?

Not sure if the '11 has extros but they're not necessary on the xtx.
A 15x144x1.75 will have a 2.52 pitch you need, tunnel protectors will have to come out! A gearing change is not necessary, but I'd drop one tooth on top giving you same gearing as '13+ 1.75's (20/39). No clutching changes necessary, you can if you like to tweak!
Best mod you will do to your nytro!

X2 Until you change the track you really dont realize how much the ripsaw is spinning and not taking advantage of the torque of the engine. It feels like you are gaining 20hp. This is the first winter I have had the Backcountry and I love it!

I've had the backcountry on since I got my sled so don't have a honest comparison to the exact 144 track that was on there before but I know that I love the traction I've got with the backcountry. I still get stuck ocasionally but not very often. On hard ground it hooks up goes. One disadvantage I found is I've never been able to powerslide aorund a corner. Just lifts the skis. I've never ran it with all of the transfer taken out though. I just don't think that would be as fun.lol.. You can pretty much lift the skis when ever you want which makes it real fun in the hills. Never had a sled where I could lift the skis off the ground doing 50 mph +. Found last spring it worked pretty good on the water too.

Have you lost top end speed with your setup or has the clutch kit made up for it.radianguy said:Not sure if the '11 has extros but they're not necessary on the xtx.

Unless you supercharge or turbo, you are going to lose top end with the 1.75 track

I have a 1.75 BC on a 2008 with extensions and still get 100 mph out of it.

Have any of you guys with the 1.75 track had a chance to compare it to a switchback assault, the reason I ask is I am thinking about buying one of these sleds or putting a 1.75 on my nitro....Either way I'm keeping my nitro.

Is it extended to 144". I'd be happy with 100 mph. That's all I get now.Northwoodsrider said:I have a 1.75 BC on a 2008 with extensions and still get 100 mph out of it.

are you more concerned over top end speed or off trail performance? that is your answer right there

The 1.75" would give off trail performance as well as on trail traction. Stock track has too much spin before it finally hooks up and picks won't help off trail. Just don't want to loose 10 mph on the track change.
