10 or 11 Venture GT or TF? Shopping advice requested

another great ride last night, a bit over 200 kms. Now up to 1,480 kms in just less than 2 weeks. After last week's rain, I thought we were done, but it snowed some more and they got the groomers back out. It's supposed to stay cold for another 5 or 6 days at least.

A few observations from last night:
The speedo is only 2 km fast at 120 and 2.5 to 3 at 150 km/h. I'm impressed.

During active riding, I don't use all the length of the seat. I find it handles better if I'm closer to the tank. I've said it before - I personally don't find the seat too short.

I was concerned about the handwarmers not being warm enough after what I'd heard about the news sleds. It was -20C last night and the warmers were putting out a lot of heat. Not quite like my SRX, but much better than my brother in law's 06 Apex.

Gas mileage was 18 mpg (imperial gallons), riding quite fast and on the gas.

I'm still finding the headlight glare behind the windshield to be annoying.

There seems to be a flat spot in the power curve, and if I recall correctly it's around 78-8000 rpm. It pulls strong up to that point and a bit more after that, but it seems to run out of steam at a certain point before max rpm.

Well that's all for now. I'd be interested to know if others have noticed these things.

well I'm doing well for my accessories list - got most of the stuff. I couldn't get the handlebar bag from Yamaha as it's been discountinued. I didn't get the Rockmeister passenger handwarmers yet and might not. My wife found them to be warm enough. I guess the gauntlets help keep more heat.

I decided not to get the nose cone bag because I felt I could pack more things in there without it. I used some sponge/foam over the rectifier but was able to store booster cables and a lot of survival gear (survival tent, survival blanket (both foil type), matches, sparker, electrical tape, duct tape, wire, tow strap, aluminum bottle for boiling water, glow sticks, fishing line and hooks and some other items. I used a black fleece coat liner to cover everything and prevent it from contacting the hood, which I can also use if I need an extra layer.

In the back storage, I added a first aid kit to the tool and owner's manual bag, a Coghlan's folding saw, a shovel (from Canadian Tire - nice product), mitts, my gauntlets and some water -- and there's still room in there! I want to add some bearings and a ratchet with Yamaha-common sockets, but that stuff is still in my SRX which I haven't taken the cover off of yet.

In the windshield bag, I have a tuque, a knife, some hand and feet warmers.

I removed my GPS and SPOT from the handlebars and mounted them to the windshield brackets. They are less intrusive there when it comes to seeing the pod and using the gauntlets.

Snow Trackers make a huge difference. No darting at all and it turns better. No impact on gas mileage (got 20 mpg on the last ride - same as my Dad's without them). I find that they make the front of the skis feel like they are floating a little. I feel it a bit in the bars. But so far the trails have been a bit softer than usual so that might change.

Now I'm seeing what I'm going to do about saddlebags. I'd rather not have to buy the rack ($275) but we'll see.

I still need to get ski-mounted ice scratchers. It rained here for 2 days so I'm sure the trails are icy.

I'm thinking of getting a mountain strap so that my daughter can hold on a bit better. I am using a harness which works great, but she still wants to put her hands on the bars.

I think I'm up to 700 kms this year so far. Looking forward to some more rides!

Do you have the aggressive snow trackers? Any problems with an increase in tippiness after switching to the snowtrackers?

I'm considering the combo sport luggage bag which can be used w/o a rack (and it's a good price) but I'm not fussy about having it sit right on the trunk due to possibly scratching and shifting around.
thanks
