Guys
Just a quick update on some recent clutching stuff.
I have been running 38/20 2 speeds in both of my nytros for just over 1000 miles. After significant testing I just keep going back to these weights. The initial primary clutch wear is zero...no wear rings in the faces at all.
Engagement is at slightly below 4k rpm.
They pull wicked top end.
I used the black hc primary spring which is not much taller then a stock yamaha.
back shift is right there & in all my testing(lots of 1000' back to back runs) the clutches stay cool(hard pack snow).
I have had no incidences of weight catostrophic failure in any sled(including turbos) that I have set them up in.
Anyway for a shorty or xtx run em with the black hc spring; 1 bolt 2 washers in the heel & remainder of weight empty.
You can play with helix,s to get a little more out of em.
If you have filters & exhaust go to a strate yamaha 45 or 47...cheap & easy to find.
I know some guys are paranoid of the 2 speeds but inover 1000 miles in both my sleds no problems on the new series updated models
Also do not pm me to buy a set as I don,t sell em!
You can get em from boss performance; richie rich or directly thru supertorquer.

i had the drag and fly on my 08 nytro with turks set up and now i went to the 2 speeds also and what a difference ,they have the weight also set up by turk ,same as mentioned above.i tried a straight 47 helix and it also made a difference too.turk knows his stuff.i got alot more top end with the 2 speeds.alot better weight in my opinion.thanks turk for that set up.

It is pretty tempting to go with the two speeds from the DnF's so not needing to compress that Fn spring would be great.
Turk what type of top end are you reaching? Distance?
Is the backshift better than the DnF's in deep powder?
Low speed running friendly?

Can,t talk about deep powder cus we have had 6" of snow so far this winter.
Low speed running & belt grab is amazing.
I am hitting the exact same top end as the stock clutching on our 1/4 mile test track....mph is meaningless in different conditions. comparing to stock clutching same day same conditions is the key

Always. Did sell it. Then bought another. Just needed to reorganize my finances. Luckily I bought my second one for the same price as I sold my first one.

Turk can you please make a suggeston on my drug & fly setup 08 nytro rtx shoulder4.7 center 5.2 tip 0 overdrive 3.2 . It engages around 4000 rpm. The problem i find is that when i come to sharp corner it hits too hard and lifts the inside sky. Can i adjust it so it comes on a litle smoother. Tanks a lot. steveTurk said:Guys
