I am studding for safety and want to keep the wieght down and track life up. I'm planning on 2/paddle.

Any recommendations on pattern?

I think you would be better off with more studs. 108 seems to few for the amount of horsepower and torque this sled puts out. Many people have told me too little studs can comprimise stud and track life. Some people will studd just the center of the track for increaed durability.

Surpertrax did a report last season using a zr900 as the test sled and they had excellent results with only 96 in a V pattern in both hookup and durability. They were very surprised at how well it hooked with so few. I went with 108 initially (up the middle only) and then added an extra every third where the studs were placed at the farthest for a total of 126 and had excellent results in all area's; Hookup, durability to the stud and track ;)!

I have definately changed my mind when it comes to the theory of track studding.....................................

I put 2500 miles on my warrior last year with just 108 studs. Studs still look good,no bent ones or missing.

I have 162 with 2700 miles on it with no problems.
