Looking to see who makes a 121-128 rail extension kit? Or would it be worth just moving the skid back? I just want the extra length for drag racing and putting 4 8 inch wheels on to help with the rolling resistance....
Thanks guys!

star suspensions has a kit to go from to 121 to 128 with no extention, improves approach angle as well

sweet! The other option i was thinking about was taking an offset axle and putting it in backwards and see if that would take up the room with just changing the track and keeping the rails stock...... might be a simple solution

I'am going to try the 128 track by moving the skid back 4" and up 2" along with the JRE spindles. I may even try designing new control arms and subframe mounts that move the spindles ahead 3-4 inches while retaining the stock shocks. Once I get the sled on the "operating" table I'll start measuring everything up to get an exact ideal of what I'am going to do.

I just completed the install of a Hartman 128 rail extension kit, OFT triple wheel - big nut kit and 1.375 cobra track.

Everything was pretty easy and straight forward.

I am very interested to see how the sled now handles with the new track set up and SPG concept front end coming next.

I will post some pix soon as well.

You will get more hookup with studs then just a 128". With a 128" you are only getting one more lug on the snow, you get contect points with sutds.

I have spoken with 2 different TY members running this kit...If I were wanting to go with a 128" set up..I would go this route. Apparently the change in handling is fantastic. Inside ski lift is supposed to be eliminated, so the sled handles very flat. I was also told skid transfer is greatly reduced...so wheelies are hard to do, but the front end stays down in the corners. Also mentioned already is the track angle...not as abrupt as stock..could lead to more top end.

I run the Star Suspension kit and highly recommend it to ALL as i am very satisfied with it. But you need to re-valve the shocks-all 4 to balance out the horrible stock calibrations. The only thing I am kicking myself for not doing was putting in extroverts at the same time. I ratchet ALOT with the cobra track. I never did with the stock track.

Im thinking of going to 144 with the star kit and my oft extentions. would give me a better approach angle too. she did ok in the deep stuff but still liked to trench a little more than i would have liked. Might have to wait a couple years to do it tho. dont have money for a new track...

You sure about that?

I think it is 3.

I went from 96 to 102 studs when I went to a 128" on my SE. That translates into 3 more rows me thinks.

You are kinda correct...there are 3 more lugs, however when the sled is on the snow..there is only one more lug touching the ground. Seems kinda pointless, however my F7 always hooked better than my SRX and with less studs. I believe the Star kit is geared more towards changing the Nytros handling characteristics than traction.

hmmmm, now I wonder if I installed that kit on my sled with the 136" extensions. Could I rock a 144" track?? It's a difference of 1" more to go then the 121-128 but maybe there a more factors ???

But interesting kit, I'm just wondering how the suspensions works with the geometry changed. The front shock would be asked to do a little more.

The XC race sled did the setback and seemed to do pretty well. I really want to do it but just cant swallow buying a new track after i just did mine last summer...

Has anyone confirmed that nothing else was changed in the skid on the XC sled. Without knowing that it wasn't for sure I don't think you can base much on that.
