128 relocate questions

Would like to go 128. For those using the relocate.....

I know the relocate reduces transfer and heavies the steering.
Are you running more limiter length and or maybe removing the coupler blocks ?

I like the 128 length as well as reducing the approach angle but want good transfer and the last thing the Nytro needs is heavier steering.

I am running Curve XS skis on my 2013 120in studded 2013 Nytro FX now.
As I already have 2.86 oem extroverts the upgrade to a 1.6 Ice Ripper would be easy....deciding on a 128 relocated or tipped 126 ext or rails.
 
I recently decided to extend my 2009 FX Nytro RTX SE to 128" using the Tracks USA rail extension kit and going with the Camoplast Ripsaw II track. I very much liked the existing feel and performace of my track angle so I decided "not" to go with any relocation kit. I wanted more stability and cornering at higher speeds by going with a new and slightly longer track and now I have it. I intend to keep my Nytro for a long time so spending money on a new track was not difficult. I have been able to log a couple of days riding this new set-up and everything works great. I wanted to add an opinion on extending a track without relocating the skid.

There were "no" issues with the installation. Did not have to deal with any track length concerns with the Camoplast Ripsaw II. My sincere thank you and appreciation goes out to Grizztracks for installing this new set-up on my sled.

Are you running the limiter strap in the stock hole or ?

I assume the 128 ext are not tipped up?

How is the weight transfer ?
With the stock approach angle and just 128 I assume everything is similar?

I did the star relocation with a 129" 1.6 Ice Cobra this season. Alls I have to say is fawking awesome. What a difference in stability, handling, and traction.
 
I have the star kit with a ripsaw2 without transfer blocks.....sled is great but i might loosen the limiter strap one notch
 
and I can actually stop off trail and take off without trenching to china......way better in the small bumps....thinking about putting a stiffer front spring like star recommends

I believe my limiter strap has been pulled up 1 notch. I'll have to double check that just to make sure. The 128" Tracks USA rail extension kit are "not" tipped up. Going to the 128" is not a radical change, but there is an improvement in stability when going at higher speeds. I would say that inside ski lift when cornering has been slightly decreased but that may be due to the new track. That's tougher to judge.
 
Terez, I just rode mine withe the 128" relocate and my current set up has the limiter pulled one hole and running C&A skis....I don't find the front feeling any heavier than it did stock. I will be letting my limiter back out as it was darting a bit too much, but overall it's the best it's ever handled....the relocate is the wat to go, mine handles so much flatter and I saw no ski lift. It also felt more stable when I let off the gas after a higher speed run, not so squirrly.
