Perfect, for me. At 35 pounds in the floats, the sled is flat in slow corners, but no real noticeable harshness in bumps. It'll lift a ski, but I want some, as with all the muckholes on a trail, sometimes I'll just lean a hair to pick the ski over the hole on the inside, without it going in. Did catch the edge of a bridge, but, hey, can't be perfect all the time...
Tweaked the upper a arm a little..nothing a backhoe and cable winch could'nt straighten. New bushings and bolt on the way.

First ride on my 12mm last week. After the first ride I ended up tighting up the limiter strap one hole and it made a difference at high speeds around sweeping corners
Close.. but, I still think their is room for improvement with the push. I was going to get the Pilots but ride with a few other Doo's and felt it would dart if I was riding behind them. (not often LOL!) I never have darting problems since I am the only Yamaha in the group
I am going back to Van Buren, Maine the 17th of Feb for 1 week... If anyone is up there and is willing to show me something better (different ski setup) I would be happy to pay for dinner for them.

Buddy of mine has a 2007 GSX Skidoo 700 and hit something in the trail last week. It appeared that just the A-Arms got bent but after taking it to the dealer they noticed that the Bulkhead is tweeked. The cost to repair will be $2800.00!!!!!
This is just a good lesson to anyone riding a machine. You have to be careful of what is in the trail ahead of you at all times.

Re: re
My apex rtx has stock skiis, 6 inch duallies, and now the 12...there is little push at all..woods handling is plenty good enough for me. Now of all the apex's I've ridden, mine pushes the least...I think it's because of the low pressure (35) I run in the fox floats...other than that, the front ends are all about the same. Floats are great shocks, imo.
I should also add, I steer with the throttle too...I like the back end a little loose, and balance the gas with what I need for front grip..that's why I like some ski lift..it can be used to advantage on some conditions...other than big fields, it's usually pretty bumpy and obstacle laden where we ride.

I've straightened alot of sleds using the proven method of the deck 6 x 8 and a backhoe..lol..granted, not like new, but we try to keep sleds running during the winter, and fix them in the summer, if possible. One thing I noticed is that the upper a arms are aluminum and bend easily. The lower is very strong, to hold the spindle in the correct position. So a decent hit with the yams results in tweaked upper arms, which bend back easily....with no damage to the bulkhead. Arms are cheap...bulkheads arent. Now a bigger hit could certainly cause bulkhead damage, but some older doos with trailing arms would get the mount by your feet ripped right out of the tunnel..that was very bad..lol.
