I've had my 06 for 12 years. I've never touched the clutch other than blowing out with compressed air periodically. I found a clutch rebuild kit from spi. It looks like bushings, washers and such. I thought it couldn't hurt to get it. Anything else I should look for while I'm in there?

That’s all you’ll need for the primary and mite as well change the secondary bushings. Keep an eye on the primary spyder for stress cracks while your in there. When i did mine, i found a crack in it.

50k on my LTX and 20k on my XTX only ever changed secondary buttons, clean and run. Clean with brake cleaner it helps wash out the dirt from hidden areas. I clean every 2500k.

Mines at 14,000k and still smooth operating. I would always be concerned with replacement parts that aren’t Yamaha. Those to me, are made of the best quality material one can manufacture with which to me is why stuff last so long on these darn machine. I’ve heard of bearing laston less than half of the originals. Someone put API or kimpex secondary buttons and they destroyed themselves in a shocking time frame and then reinstalled the partially worn Yamaha ones back in.. for me, when I remove a Yamaha part. That’s what goes back in its place so I can forget about whether it’s a quality part or not.
Now let’s not mention the front bushing, oilite has that figured out, lol

replace the springs as well. For 20 bucks from Yamaha you each can't go wrong.
I Replaced all . Complete clutches , the whole thing , both .It makes a difference, just replacing what your replacing will help .Yamaha clutches work well but after time and how much your right thumb pushes makes things wear sooner or later .
