I know there are a hundred 136 extension threads, and I've searched them, but looking for some specific answers from those who have done it. Planning on buying the parts over the next year and completing this for next season.

Sled: FX nytro standard (upgraded to RTX suspension)

Extension: going to go with OFT - rlcofmn, these aren't going to be discontinued anytime soon are they?

Wheels: going to get the X-wheel kit, adding a set before the tip up.

Drivers: what is stock size? The Wahls available are 8 or 9 tooth. Which size extrovert to go with?

Track: Camoplast 1.5" intense fully clipped

Gearing: what should I do with gearing? Is stock OK? Should I change the top gear? Will changing driver size do what I want?

Exchanger protectors: will the 1.5" track clear them? Do they have to come off? If I go with extros, will that effect the answer? I obviously will not be running studs but I don't want to remove the protectors if I don't have to.

Clutching: I've got the Schmidt Bros comfort clutch now. Do I have to change clutching?

Well the bad news is that due to sales volumes and cost of manufacturing I have discontinued the Rail Extensions.

The good news is that I have 1 set left but once that one set of 136" Nytro extensions sells we will be shutting the product down.

Great mod. i love mine in 136in form. Stock drivers will be 9 tooth, i didnt gear down on mine but if ur doing all or most off trail stuff going 1 tooth down isnt a bad idea. as far as clutching id call SB and talk to them about ur changes and see if they reccomend anything. i love my SB stage 2 kit i got last year. track will clear the front protectors, i left mine in. The hook up of this track is awesome you wont be disappointed, good luck and happy modding! :yam:

I agree with raginyamaha good advice. ;)!

Good info and advice ragin and revster. Thanks. I will still be doing mostly trail riding, just wanted some additional capability to dip off the trail here and there and hopefully not get stuck as easily. So if I wanted to maintain same gearing, I could just go with a set of 9 tooth extros and I should be good to go. Good call on contacting SB, will do when the time comes closer. Wish I could justify the money to buy everything and get it completed for this season but have to wait! Bummer.

Muffin works is still making extensions! We have over a dozen in stock for both 136 and 144 in both straight and 6 degree tip up. Extensions have been our bread and butter for years.

Yeah if you are mostly sticking to the trails leave the gearing and run 9ts for sure. The 1.5" is a nice choice, a buddy had one on his 121" and the sled was great both on and off trail with it. He never did extros and it wouldn't ratchet on the trail however in the deeper snow it would for sure.

I didn't put extras in mine and did not ratchet at all. I a freak about track tension tho. I check it before every ride...
