How to make a studded 1.5"lug track fit rtx? clearence?

Guys, I dont own a Nytro, so take this for what its worth.
Looking at the picture above, it apears that there is plenty of room for the protectors, unless thats not the 1 1/2 lug track.
My Viper S came with a 1 1/4 ripsaw without protectors, due to the same type of clearence problem. Everyone said I would have to change to 8 Tooth drivers if I wanted studs and protectors. I simply notched the track about 3/16" where the protectors would have contacted them and installed studs that only cleared the lug by 1/4". I havent had so much as a nick in my tunnel or exhangers.
Im not guaranteeing this will work for your Nytro, but cant see why not!
Good luck, Sno-XR

If there isnt any room for the stock protectors there sure wont be any room for any other fabbed in protectors. And the stock protectors being welded to the cooler how would you attach any other fabbed up design...

Sno-x guys prolly run 8 tooth extros and gear accordingly as they can grab any gear chain combo they like it dont cost em anything. Actually they prolly dont even change the gearing as it would gear them down nicely and I doubt they ever see speeds upwards of 95 mph on A sno-x track. 21/38 with 8 tooth is geared for 91mph and 96mph with OD where the stock setup is 102/108mph @8900rpm

Hey Sno-XR,

I think you are underestimating the size of those heat exchanger protectors. Take a look at these pics from 08NytroRTX of the stock 1.25 track and the protectors.

As you can see there is basically a 1/4 inch of clearance between the track and the protectors. I think you could put the 1.5 in there, but I wouldn't do it without notching the track.

I think the best solution would be to remove the protectors, cut them down by 1/4 to 1/2 inch and re-weld them back in.

Here is the pic of my 1.5 inch track again for reference. I totally understand what you are saying because when you look at my picture it looks as though there is a ton of room in there. Must be the camera angle or something.

They deffinitly look tall!! The only concern I would have if you removed a 1/4' from the protector, is that when the little nobbies on the the end of the track lug wear or break off(and they will, you should see mine) , it will allow the track and studs to get that much closer to the exchanger.Approximately a 1/2", add that to the 1/4" the stud protrudes above the lugs for traction and that equals 3/4". If you remove to much from the protector itself, the studs are going to do some damage #$%&*

The 1.5" Intense does not fit unless you remove the stud protectors or notch the top of the track lugs (my estimation is maximum 1.37-1.38" lug height, anything higher will rub the stud protectors). Even if you keep the stud protectors and notch the top of the lugs just enough to get the track in, combined with studs this sounds very risky.
