Hey guys - The W-arm on a 136 Mono is broken right where the tubes are welded to the bottom mounting tabs (forked mounts). Only one side of each mount fork is broken, but both sides of the arm have the same issue.

I have done a bunch of searching, and it looks like the 2 best options are . . .
  • 2008 superseded part
    Halfbaked Coatings Beef-Up Kit
However, I doubt I can get either one of these options done by next week.

Q: What do you guys suggest to get this sled back in service quickly?

Long-term I think I will go with the Halfbaked Coatings Beef-Up kit.

Input is welcome . . .

Call a bunch of local dealers and see if they have an 08. Its a common failure so someone may have it.

Good luck!

Go half baked and never look back. Keep buying supposedly beefed factory crap and its just that. For half the price it is a complete system all 3 arms and the coating matches and will last.

DINGGGGGG

I welded mine myself Has yet to rebreak. Bummer I do not have pics. I was in a hurry. Like a week before going on a TY ride.

Ding if you can weld and have a welder, do it yourself. Like Frogg said, do it and dont look back.

Hope to see you next week.

Thanks guys, I am going to weld it. Yah I can weld, but Cody is much better at it than I am. He has a MIG welder and a wire welder at his place. He has the arm now so I will just let him decide how to fix it. Then when the season is over I am going to send it to halfbaked. Brian sounds very good.

Yep stuff only breaks the week before or during a ride.

I'll be in Muni Thursday sometime. I will be in Marquette to pick up my old Viper earlier Thursday, but at Comfort Inn thursday night. I will try to let Viper Dave know my whereabouts in case some are riding Thursday.

My W arm is currently out for the same reason. Talking to a welder today, seems like the joints in question could benefit from a thicker weld. The weld at that joint is so small.

I went over all my welds when it was new,and it made it to 11000 miles so far. The original welds are small and undercut

Welded for now, hopefully for this season. Then off to HalfBakedCoatings. I am impressed with Brian's responsiveness.
