Hey all
Im sick of the mono shock and all of its problems.
Im thinking about installing a 121" Expert X into my 136" attak with the 136" ripsaw. This would have to be setback a few inches when mounted.
The whole idea behind the setback is to get the approach angle right so the sled wont trench in deep snow and wont eat rail tips and sliders so much. Plus my mono has broken the rails, rail gussets, w-arm and limiter strap, RA cable broke, and tons of sliders, im sick of it. This has all been replaced under warranty and the skid is brand new, but its just going to happen again.
My question is to see if anyone has really done a setback with any particular skid and did it work well?

I haven't done it, but maybe rather than setting a 121 back far enough to use a 136" track, it might make more sense to move a 121 back to use a 128 track, or a 128 far enough to use a 136? Just thinking...
I have an extrovert setup on mine, and had to remove a section of the rail on the front of the skid while installing a 121" Pro X suspension because of that. That worked out reallly well, but in hindsight, it may have worked out better if I had set the suspension back a little and gone with a 128" track.... FWIW

I definatley want to keep this 136", I do lots of off trail riding and this sled needs this track length, I cant keep it from not trenching.
The approach angle on the apex/attak is unbeleiveable. My brother has a 07' phazer and while on the trailer, you can directly compare approach angles, and his is dramatically more gradual.
Also, was thinking that since rail extensions for 121" to 136" are only around 6" long or so, that would be as far as the 121 skid would have to be set back.

121 to 136 needs 7.5 inches of set back or rail extensions. you take the added track length divided by 2. Maxdlx
