136" Q&A/Install Thread: Clutching question

What would you guys recommend for clutching with this thing? I would like more top speed at the track for pow. Its got a 18t right now and stock weights/spring.

clutch kit, mess with the secondary, or move up a gear or 2.

I am looking to do a 136 as well. Is a tunnel extension necessary? and if so can I get a kit for it? I have no fabrication tools/experience.

Defenetly necessary. You will hook the metal bracket behind the flap and beat it up and/or damage the track. A local metal shop should be able to make the bends for you for pretty cheap, its basic. You can make a "template" for them to go by with a piece f wire outlineing the inside shape of the #*$&@ end of the tunnel. Then attach the flimsy tail piece to that. Maybe buy a mountain bumper. There's a bit of test fitting involved so make good measurements.

i find it hard to decide what track length i would like to get to
136 seems safe to me cuz i like to go aggresive on narrow trails but i also break alot of trails and can easily find 4 or 5 foot deep stuff
breakin trails is where alot of the fun is
144 seems lengthy
what made you decide to keep it down to 136?

Yes. The 14" is not available anymore. I got this track on the cheap so it was a no brainer. Defenetly getting a 1.5 or larger over the summer.

I ride about 75% on trail and 25 off. Would a 1.352" track be a better option for me vs. a 1.5"? I'm thinking a 136 Cobra?

Mine's 1.25 and I find it a little lacking compared to my 1.5 Freeride. The tipped up rail is effectively making the track a 121 and it just doesn't have the same bite for acceleration and especially stopping. I would say going up any amount on your lug will be a benefit. I had no hyfax wear in 3500 miles with a 1.5 either. The 136's flotation is way, way better than the 121 too. I think it would be a good choice for you for sure.

Sounds good, 1.5 it will be! Thanks.
