If I change the stock track to an 1.5" intense will I have to do any gear changes?

For normal riding you shouldn't have to change anything. If you're looking for a better ride in the deep stuff you might want to adjust the clutching, but the gearing should be fine.

You should be fine. I did that swap last seson, or atleast installed an 1.5" track and left the gearing alone.

I want to do the same with an apex (stretch to 136 as well) but what I need to know is will I need to remove tunnel protectors?
I searched this topic and have been reading for two days now and some say yes, some say no.
Has anyone put an 1.5" 136 intense on an apex and left tunnel protectors on?

If you don't remove the tunnel protectors, you will have to notch the track. Gearing isn't mandatory.
