I've made the decision to buy a new Apex XTX. My problem is I like the color schemes of the '13 models better than the '14. Sounds petty I know. Question is, whats the difference between years other than price and color? For what its worth, usually keep sled 5+ years before getting that itch.
Currently ride 2006 Apex GT shorty. I'm about 7 foot tall and say 295 lbs geared up. 100% groomed / rough aggresive trail rider, too old and big to go off trail. Any other model suggestions? Love the current ride but late season boo boo last year to current sled makes it time to move on.

XTX will not ride nearly as well as your current ride.

I don't think there were any changes between the two years, just the colors and graphics. I have been pleased with my XTX's. I would take the hold over if you like the color and price better.

Buy the 13, the only thing I see is the resale value of one being a year newer, that dont matter if you keep it 5yrs. (resale) we dont get --it for them anyway.
Mark gave you the itch didn't he?

Go with the 13 and save the money there were not that many changes. Being that tall you may want to put a riser on it if you stand up at all.

Either year is fine. Get the tall or extra tall windshield especially given your height. Don't listen to vx700xtc. I have a 2006 Apex GT & a 2013 Apex XTX & the XTX is a DREAM come true better!

Regarding the why of new sled, not due to Marks purchase, found belly of mine ripped open, frame bent and front exchanger leaking. Had no idea, must have been last spring ride.

What prices are you getting so far? I went to dealer today and I had a price of 14500 for a Viper, 16299 for 14' Apex XTX and 10000 for a 2012 Nytro Demo with 3000k on it.

The 14's also come with the new Dupont Slides. I was the same way about the color for this year but I picked the 14 cuz of the few upgrades.

I took a little different path, struck a deal on a '12 Apex xtx last night with tuner skis, dupont slides and warranty to '17. Bring on the snow!
