pic or not - new Apex xtx

Thanks for all the feedback! I know there is mod for the tunnel/heat exchanger protectors that Port Yamaha sells that is the way to go if studding. Buddy is studding his new '14 xtx, think I will ride mine as is initially and compare to his. I have always studded but cost, weight and chance of throwing stud into exchanger has me rethinking. Also, all my prior skids were the shorties so the traction was needed for the Apex HP. Not so sure with the xtx skid.

This year I put in 96 Woodys Golddiggers with the big nuts. Just looking for a little help stopping in Icy or packed snow conditions. My Dealer said it was OK to stud the XTX track as long as they shimmed the tunnel protectors.
I ran the Ice Ripper on my 2007 Apex GT and really liked it. I plan to go back to the Ice Ripper in a couple of years.
