I was thinking of installing a 153" skid in my warrior and was wondering if I would have any problems running a 151" track if I went to 8 tooth drivers as well? Any suggestions?
Thanks

I am also wondering how much longer the 153" rails are compared to the 151"? I would like to run the camoplast 151" crossover track with the 153" skid on my warrior but don't want to spend all the money and not have it work.
Thanks

With a 151 track you are going to want to run a 141 skid. Your approach angle would be poor and you would have to set the skid forward inorder to get it to fit. I am running a 141 skid with a 153 track on my RX-1 and it works and fits perfect. I also run a 151 in it as well and do not have to make any changes to the geometry to make the track swap. The A/C skid runs 8" wheels in the rear stock that make it possible.

Thanks for your input! Would it make a difference at all if I was using a nytro mtx skid vs say an arctic cat skid? I really want to run the 151" track with the 153" skid but from what your saying it wont fit, right?
Thanks

Using an MTX skid I guess you would just have to measure it up. I am unfamiliar with their measurements and where they are mounted in proximity to the driveshaft. At first glance I would still think it would not work.

Why? It goes the other way around 144 skid 151 track the 153 will be too long.

I would like to use the MTX skid in my warrior due to the fact I can get a new one for a good price and it has better weight transfer as well as more travel (14" vs 11.5") and I prefer the easy to adjust springs. I also want to make it a better crossover/boondocking sled and the track I want to run is the camoplast crossover but it only comes in 151" length. I can't find any cross over tracks in the 153" length but from what everyone is telling me a 151" yamaha skid won't work for a 151" track either? I don't really understand, are the rx warrior's that much different from the rx mountain sleds that you can't swap the skid frames?
Can anyone clear this up for me?
Thanks

The front mounting holes for the rear suspension on a warrior I believe are further forward like a short tracker than those on a MTN version. The MTN version mounts right behind your feet on the tunnel. If you mount a MTX suspension to far forward you are going to lose weight transfer and loses the benefits are what you are trying to achieve. I think the only options you have are going with a A/C 141 skid or finding a 151 Yamaha pro mountain skid(spring style setup) from a 05 or newer mountain sled and changing your mounting points to match that of the mountain sled.

Okay, so even if I was to change the mounting points for the 153" skid so that I can fit the 151" track the skid is that much longer then a 151" skid that it won't work properly?
Does anyone know how long the rails on a 151" skid are? I know the rails on the MTX skid are 60". I'm wondering if these skids use the same rails but are mounted differently due to the different tunnels and chassis'.
Thanks, I really want to see if this can work because I will be putting either a 151" pro mountain skid or 153" pro mountain skid in my sled. I would prefer the MTX one.

You can make any skid frame work on your sled. Read this links it will help you understand:

Will I need new drop down brackets or can I just move my existing warrior ones? Also do I need an inner braket for the front mounting position? Does anyone know of people who have made this mod?

151 rx1 rails are roughly 60" as well. But the rail length is not what you need to be concerned with. It how long the front and rear torque arms are in relation to their mounting points. Even though the rails are the same length the torque arms might be an inch longer or the suspension is made to mount further back on the chassis for the longer track. Not saying it is not possible for the MTX suspension to work. Just might not work as designed.

Thanks, I am thinking I will give it a try and see how it works. I hope the 153" skid will work well with my warrior and a 151" track. Anyone know if I can reuse my warrior drop down brackets?

What are doing for a tunnel ext for the longer track? I believe that they will not be long enough because with the taper of the tunnel and the length of the new suspension, they will not drop out far enough but I could be mistaken.

I was going to put on an aftermarket tunnel extension. Isn't the warrior tunnel the same as the rx mountain only different brackets and extension?
