2011 Nytro MTX slowly being modded
2005 IQR Trail Converted
Ok guys I'm looking for your input on this one good or bad. So a few years back I did a huge build on my Nytro (with Push turbo) & put a 153 AC float skid under it with a PC 2.6 & a ton of other mods. It turned out great & all works well. The issue is I live in central WI & get to the UP a few times a year & I really can't use the 153 to its potential all thou I do try. So I'm thinking about swapping the 153 M-series rails for a set of 141s. Now everything will mount right up from the 153 to the 141 except I will need to relocate the lower front track shock mount location back about 1" (or just use the 153 rail as a template to get the mounting hole). The other option is to get the shorter front track shock but I like the idea of the laid down shock like I already have. The other good thing is the center to center on the torque arms is the same from the 153 to the 141. Plus I really don't have to cut the tunnel down either. Now I'll also run the same track PC 2.6 but in the 141 length . This should make her a little more nimble (#*$&@ I just called a Nytro nimble LOL)

Do you guys know if anyone else has done this yet? I haven't researched if much but it is kinda appealing to me.
Now let me have it!
Failed hill climb below, there was way more blow back on the top than I thought. Pulled the front down & still climbed out!

I am currently running a 153 in my tube chassis and had the cat skid in my nytro as well. I have never noticed that much of a difference between a 141 and a 153. It's only 6" more track on the ground. Assuming a 3" pitch that's only 2 paddles less on the ground. I just don't see how taking that little track off the ground will make that much difference in handling. I have rode my 153 x2.5 for 4 seasons now and never had a problem.

The 153 Nytro is night & day different handling from my 146 IQR. I know it's not apples to apples but the 153 does feel long on the trail & I've never ride a 141 cat to know how that feels compared to the 153. I do appreciate your insight & the logic is sound & yes it is a 3 pitch set up.
