Im ready to change out the maverick and go with either the 153 challenger extreme or 162 extreme.. I like the idea of having more floatation with the 162 as I ride mostly in the mountains, but do ride some trails at home etc..
Any input or experience with either track would be great,, I know some guys are having better luck with the trenching with some skid adjustments etc.. It would be cheaper staying with the 153 set-up but I might add boost next year and the 162 is the way to go with boost... I just have nitrous for this season and suspension upgrades..

Sounds like you ride mostly mountains so I would 2nd the 162 and would put the 16" wide camo extreme in if it would fit. The more floatation the better.

I love my 162. It's not much more expensive as you can keep the OEM tunnel extension if you want to. I did.

I'd go 162 as well. I'm just waiting on myself deciding if I wanna try to stick a 16" wide one underneath.

The 16" wide is abit of a chore to get in so I hear,, I might just go with the 15"
Hey Spray can you post a pic with your 162 with stock tunnel .. I heard it does fit pretty good ??

It is a little challenging to put a 16 wide in but that is what I"m doing and going to a 156" camo extreme 2.5" little shorter for turning but better floatation than a 15 x 162......02

Thats another good option... Let me know how it works out for you.. To take up the extra track what are you using or doing..

I will try to take soem better pics tomorrow if I have time, but the pics of my gas can here are with teh 162 http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=48494&start=15
They are NOT very good pics of the track as the angles are funky. It fits better than it looks here.

I have an 04 RX-1 SC w/153" Nytro Skid/Track (15" wide) and an 03 RX-1 Stock w/162" Apex Skid/Track (lighten up a bit). In the garage side by side the length is not that different, not even the width of the rear idler different. But the 162" seems to climb and ride better, I enjoy it more. More track, seems to equal more fun as long as you have enough snow! I am going to the Nytro now, will ride at 153" this year, but this summer there will be some changes!

I want to sell my apex and get a nytro because it is shorter i think for my riding style it will be more suited
The longest track i would go for is a 156

A 162 x 15 is working great on mine. I did a 15 wide because the 16 will take away from the sleds nimble handling. Just getting the maveric of and getting something with better bite is a big improvement even if you dont go longer.

I ordered a 162x 15x 2.25 Extreme with extensions from Hartman should work well.. Rode another 200km this weekend and this motor is revving higher and higher. Cranked up the secondary as well and that helped alot.. Got another spring to try on the primary from my dealer thats supposed to work better as well..
