I currently have a 151 but i want to go longer! I know a couple guys have gone to the 159 but what about the 162 cat? the cat is quite a bit lighter and not much longer but has anyone used one? what do you think of both of these sizes and which 159 do you like?? Also who has the best extension kit?

By the way... i Put 70 miles on my sled last weekend at tollgate(for those of you out west) and they have got over 15" of snow  since sunday... I know what i'm doing for turkey weekend!! :D :D

hi jason,

personally i just have a 151, but, i read the reviews of the mountain cat 04 with the 162 in snowtech, and he said that

Because the the lug is pre bend, the track has very good traction on very loose snow, but on snow that a little bit harder, they loose some traction because the bend on the lug create slippage.

As Hardcore said you have to have different drivers. They run a 3" pitch which eliminates 7 or 9 rows of paddles. That's how they lose the weight. I've heard they weigh 50-52lbs for a 2.25" Lug vs 57 lbs for a 159 with a 2" lug. If this works well everyone will go to the 3" pitch. I would like a 151x16x2 with 3" pitch. Guess I'll have to be patient!

I have a friend that is an absolute die hard Cat fan. He has the new King Cat with the 162. He had the 159 last year. He does NOT like the 162 at all. He says it just won't hook up. I have not rode it personally, but trust me it took a lot for him to admit this to me cause we have quite a sled rivelry (sp?) going.

I have a similar situation but my whole family is Cat faithful and I am the traitor! But we all know who made the right choice!! I just ordered the anti-ratchets to put on my 151 so i think i will just be going to the 159 as i have heard the same things you are saying about lack of hookup.

Besides, i already know how much grief i could get for putting a cat track on my yamaha!

That solves it right there!! 159 it is!!

Holy Cow! Now here's a post where we have actually come to the resolution to a question. That's great. Usually we banter back and forth and end up not solving the problem completely. This is Great. 159 it is. PB

Unless of course you are on a hill with a grade between 9.87% and 10.0005%, the temperture is between -15.873F and -16.36283F, AND the snow is exactly 3.8716 feet deep. THEN I think the 162 would be better. :D :D :D

Is that considered banter?
