Ok guys a couple of question for you on this matter, 1st, just how much oil is suppose to come out of the bottom of the engine ? (it's a dry system and all the oil is suppose to be in the resevoir) I took the filter off 1st and let it drain from there, also while draining the resevoir and when I did the bottom of the engine, hardly anything came out ! Also, exactly how many quarts does thing actually take ? My dealer told me 3 and that's
what I bought, but noticed it did not need the full 3 !!!!

what I bought, but noticed it did not need the full 3 !!!!

That whole piece comes out. follow that "bar" to the left and to the right. there are bolts holding that on the frame. take off the bolts and the whole piece comes out. You have to play with it alittle but it will come out. Yamanator, Quite a bit came out from under my sled and for a full oil change it is over 3 quarts not sure of the exact amount I can't get to my manual. but it should have taken 3 if you emptied everything. Did you warm up the sled before the oil change?

1st, I did warm up the engine and let it run till it got somewhat warm.
Then I started taking out the battery and everything else. I started draing the oil tank 1st and noticed I could do both the filter and the tank at the same time, so I undid the filter and let it drain with the tank. I let it drain till nothing else was dripping anymore and put on new filter and put screw back in tank and proceeded to undo the engine plug. When I undid it I noticed hardly any oil came out. let it drip for a second or 2 and put plug back in. I then put a half a quart in the engine and 2 in the tank, started and let it run to circulate the oil a little and it was showing almost full. I then put a little bit more in and it was full. I have about 1/3 of a quart left.
I hope it will be ok...........

You should be fine. I do the oil tank then the plug (underneath)and the filter last and get nothing out of the filter area. you just drained the engine through the filter area ( if I understand you correctly) that sounds like it could get messy. If you did all 3 places you should have gotten it all. Did you check the oil level by screwing the dipstick in or just resting it on top. You should not screw it in. If you did it would give you a full reading when its not full yet. Not enough to hurt the engine by any means but the oil level should be checked with the dipstick unscrewed.
