2 lines on the gas tank?

Looking at my tank I have two fuel lines. One had a filter on it so I know that goes to the pump but what is the second line for? It don't have a line in the tank so if the gas is lower then where its located there's no way for it to pick up gas?

Yeah I kinda figured it was a return line but.. might be a dumb question but what is the return line for?

The return line is there so your excess fuel can bypass back to the tank. You should have a fuel pump that puts out more pressure than is needed at the regulator and the rest goes back to the tank.
